Start with the medium

Identify whether the fluid is a gas or liquid, then document composition, concentration, conductivity, viscosity, solids and bubbles. These properties determine which sensing principles can work reliably.

Size from the real operating window

Provide minimum, normal and maximum flow rather than only the pipe size. A meter selected around normal flow usually provides better resolution and control than one oversized for an occasional peak.

Match the measurement principle

Thermal mass technology is common for compatible gases. Transit-time ultrasonic technology suits clean liquids and enables non-invasive measurement. Viscous, conductive or multiphase media may require gear, Coriolis, electromagnetic or another application-specific principle.

Confirm installation and integration

Check pressure, temperature, tube dimensions, straight runs, wetted materials, output signal, power supply and response time before finalizing the model.
